The Final Act

If real life is just an act,

Then each day’s script is tightly packed.

When you live, it’s like you play a role,

Hiding the cracks that reveal your soul.

When you live, it’s like the world’s a stage,

And you perform with a scripted page.

When you live, you follow the cues,

Wearing a mask to hide the blues.

And so if real life is merely a show,

Is it so wrong,

To wish

for the curtain to close?
